Fall Festivities - Things To Add To Your Fall Bucket List

As we mentioned in our previous post, our team LOVES fall! There is something just so special and magical about going to a pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures! Some of our favorite things about fall are of course the beautiful colors of the foliage, soup weather, campfire season, and movie nights on the couch when the fall rains move in. Again, we could go on and on about the things we love about this time of year.

Maybe you are looking for a tradition for your new family, or simply an new place to visit this year? We put together a list of locations we have been, are wanting to go to, and a fun idea for taking advantage of the cool nights when campfires are a must!

Festivities, Fun, and Treats!

1. Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm - Midlothian, TX

If you are looking for the ULTIMATE fall experience then look no further! Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm is 10 acres of nothing but pure fall festivities. Some of the activities include a corn maze, hay rides, axe throwing, corn hole, pumpkin bowling, and an interactive farm animal experience and so much more. Not only do they offer endless activities, they also have a number of food vendors to keep your crew satisfied! With options varying from BBQ, Sweet treats, frozen treats, and many more. You will have plenty of areas for photo ops, and can even purchase pumpkins grown right on the farm!

2. Autumn at the Arboretum (The Dallas Arboretum) - Dallas, TX

Not one who is interested on taking pumpkins home, but still like to experience all of the gourd-eous pumpkins?? You won't regret a visit to the Dallas Arboretum - Autumn at the Arboretum! Walk through the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village that is constructed of 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash. The grounds also display over 150,000 fall flowers from Floydada, TX accentuated with you guessed it.. MORE pumpkins. Have a picnic on the lush lawns, visit gift shops, or the on site 3.5 acre herb and vegetable garden "A Tasteful Place".

3. Cooper Farms - Fairfield, TX

This gem sits on I45 in an repurposed gas station, known locally for their delicious peaches and fresh peach ice cream. Not only do they just offer a variety of pumpkins and seasonal plants, but they also have a wide selection of salsas, baked goods, and nuts! Some of their seasonal treats include PUMPKIN ice cream and cinnamon vanilla!

4. Princes Plants & Things - Corsicana,

Visiting Princes Plants & Things is at the top of our team member, Kendle Vitters, list and makes it a priority to pick out her pumpkins at the beginning of the season every year! The Princes have been providing the residents of Navarro County with beautiful seasonal plants, and flowers since 1981! This pumpkin patch isn't the biggest, but it sure does have the most beautiful selection. You can hear the pride in Mr. Prince's voice as he tells you about each and every pumpkin and plant, and the next haul he is about to bring in. They not only offer the best and most beautiful selections, but they also have prices you can't beat!

5. Step Up Your Campfire Game

-S'mores Charcuterie: Fill a board or tray with a variety of chocolate bars and cookies, try to to think outside of the typical Hershey bar and golden grahams!

-Beverage Bar: Have a new fall sangria recipe you are dying to try? Set up drink dispensers with your favorite mixed drink to keep your guests from having to go back and forth for refills. Put non-alcoholic beverages on ice for easy access, or have a hot chocolate bar for the extra chilly nights

-Music: There are plenty of inexpensive wireless bluetooth speakers out there, music is the perfect way to set the mood!

6. Galaxy Drive-In Theater - Ennis, TX

Take advantage of the mild and cool fall weather, and visit one a the few remaining drive-in theaters in Texas. Open since 2004, this 7 screen theater is perfect for a truck bed picnic, cozy date night, or fun family outing! They even allow you to bring your pets!!

7. Tyler State Park - Tyler, TX

If you are looking for a long day trip or maybe even overnight, then Tyler State Park is the place to go! This is one of the top parks in the state for fall foliage, and boasts a variety of beautiful colors when the trees begin to change. If you plan on staying overnight then get your site booked now, campsites go quick as people flock from across the state to see the park in the brief window. There will be plenty to do; activities include 13 miles of hiking trails, fishing on the 64 acre spring fed lake, and bike riding.

We hope this list gives you some ideas on activities for you and your family or friends, to get out and enjoy the fall season!
